Myanmar, 2005 » Yangon
Yangon (population 4,082,000), is the largest city of Myanmar (formerly Burma) and the former capital. In November 2005 the military junta started moving the government away from Yangon to Pyinmana. The heart of Yangon is the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most sacred buddhist site in Myanmar, with the 98 meter gilded stupa in its centre.
