Oberbayern

A short drive through the beautiful scenery of Oberbayern (Upper Bavaria) starting at the Benedictine Abbey of Benediktbeuern, taking me further to the small village of Rottenbuch with its wonderful rococo style church and to the UNESCO world heritage site of Wies, the Wies Church, a marvel in rococo design.
On I went to the picturesque village of Oberammergau, famous for its decennial performance of the passion of Christ and featuring intricate facade fresco paintings all over the village and rounding my trip up with a visit to the monastery of Ettal.
